There are many hazards that our children face on and off the soccer pitch. Tennessee State Soccer Association and the State of Tennessee have identified specific requirements that must be completed by persons working with players which make up a comprehensive Risk Management program designed to protect our most valuable asset, our children.
As part of Tennessee State Soccer Association's (TSSA's) Risk Management Program, TSSA requires that all persons in positions of "authority" or working with players must complete a four step process. The first is submitting to a criminal background check. The second step, initiated in 2014 in response to Tennessee State Legislation, requires coaches to complete an online training program in concussion safety and awareness. The Third and Fourth steps, also required by Tennessee State Law, requires all coaches to complete and sign Concussion Safety Awareness and Sudden Cardiac Arrest Information and education forms designed specifically for Coaches and administrators. There is no fee for coaches to complete any of the steps.
Subtabs for each of the four requirements are found on our website, under the Coaches Corner tab. Links to each tab are also here for your convenience:
